Ich war sehr nervös, als ich an der Bezirksschule Aarau anfing, denn es war eine neue Schule und eine neue Klasse. Ich kannte überhaupt niemanden aus meiner Klasse! Am Anfang war das alles ein bisschen beängstigend, weil ich lernen musste, öfter mit Leuten zu reden, um Freunde zu finden. Nach etwa einer Woche machte ich Fortschritte beim Schließen von Freundschaften und ging sogar mit jemandem zum Mittagessen aus! Ich finde, meine Lehrer sind sehr nett und hilfsbereit, und sie finden immer Zeit, mir etwas zu erklären oder zu helfen, selbst wenn sie beschäftigt sind. Ich hatte schon 2 Tests und die liefen super!!! Der Schulcampus ist wirklich schön und im Winter dürfen wir uns auf dem Nordhof sogar mit Schneebällen bewerfen. Ich denke, mein Stundenplan ist ein bisschen hart, weil ich an drei Tagen in der Woche um 7:30 Uhr anfange, was bedeutet, dass ich um 6:15 Uhr aufstehen muss, um mich fertig zu machen, weil mein Bus um 7:03 Uhr fährt. Meine Tage können von 7:30 Uhr bis 17 Uhr dauern! Das sind wirklich lange Tage und ich bin nach der Schule sehr müde, aber insgesamt gefällt mir meine neue Schule sehr gut!

I am Leonardo Moreno, I have been at SIS Schönenwerd all my life and for the last five weeks I have been at the Bezirksschule Aarau. With me in the class is also Allegra from the SIS. In the first few days there was a lot going on, a lot of new people, new faces and mostly new friends, there was a lot to take in but not that much. We had new subjects of which we hadn`t had in primary but nothing of which we didn`t know. The subjects especially English were mostly easy and aside from the first few weeks the homework wasn`t so overwhelming. The teachers are always nice but strict when needed. There are events like sports day, future day as well as themes week and after the first year replacing future day the students can go to a job they wish to visit. The timetable is different every day. Sometimes you wake up early while on others you can have some more time. We don`t have lunch at school but you can bring your own, go home or eat in Aarau. The school has a very big playground with shade, places to sit and a foot- /basketball field. At the school there are various optional activities including theater, band, extra IT and much more. I am having a great time here I hope future students at this or any other school have it too.

Während den Vorbereitungstagen im August, haben unsere Lehrpersonen einen Erste-Hilfe-Kurs unter professioneller Anleitung absolviert. Abgesehen von den üblichen Erste-Hilfe-Massnahmen lernten sie auch die grundlegenden Fähigkeiten der CPR (Herz-Lungen-Wiederbelebung) sowie den Umgang mit unserem neu installierten Defibrillator, der bei Kindern und Erwachsenen angewendet werden kann.

Frau Bally: Wir hatten Neon Röhren und im August 2023 mussten wir sie ersetzen, weil sie zu viel Energie benutzen. Mit LED-Lichtern können wir Energie sparen. - Wie viel kosten LED-Lichter in Vergleich zu normalen Lichtern?

Our Green Team led a remarkable whole-school effort this year, rallying us to unite for a positive environmental cause: World Clean Up Day.
On Friday morning, 16 September, our youngest Intro students to our eldest P6 students, armed with enthusiasm and trash bags, embarked on a mission to demonstrate that small actions yield significant results. After scouring parks, streets, and the surrounding school grounds, they collected a substantial amount of waste. These young eco-heroes committed to not just clean but also recycle responsibly. With dedication, they meticulously sorted the trash into categories like plastics, paper, and metals and headed to the local recycling center. Their mission was to ensure each item found its proper destination, where it could be repurposed and given a second chance at life.
Let's celebrate the efforts of our young eco-heroes at SIS Schönenwerd and show support on their mission for a cleaner, greener, more sustainable world. Together, we can make a significant difference.

Our Primary Intro class recently embarked on an enchanting adventure to Bally Park, and it was an absolute delight for our little explorers! Surrounded by the lush greenery, our curious kids had the chance to discover the wonders of nature up close. They eagerly identified colourful flowers, listened to the gentle rustle of leaves, and even spotted some friendly forest and lake creatures like birds and ducks. With wide-eyed wonder and infectious excitement, our Intro children truly enjoyed this educational journey into the heart of Bally Park. A big thank you also to our 5th and 6th Graders for helping us walk carefully to Bally Park!

Am Freitag, dem 1. September 2023, gingen die 1. und die 2. Klasse gemeinsam auf Wandertag. Bei herrlichem Wetter bewanderten wir einen Teil des lokalen Wanderweges “Erlebnisweg Aarauer Waldweg - Zelgli Quartiersverein” und das Schlussstück “Aarauer Planetenweg der Sternwarte Schafmatt”. Den Schluss der Strecke bildete der “Wildtierpark Roggenhausen” in Aarau.
Nach einer kurzen Anreise mit dem Bus ging es gleich los und wir hatten grossen Spass bei verschiedenen Spielposten im Wald. An der schönen riesigen Holzmurmelbahn wurden gemeinsam verschiedene Techniken und Strategien entwickelt.
Die Modelle „Mars bis Sonne“ wurden ausgiebig bestaunt und besprochen. Wandern und Spielen macht hungrig und so genossen wir dann unser Mittagessen unter der altehrwürdigen „Echolinde“ sehr. Natürlich probierten wir auch aus, ob der Baum seinen Namen zu Recht trägt.
Im Wildtierpark angekommen, bildeten die Fahrt mit den kleinen Autos und das Beobachten der Wildtiere einen schönen Höhepunkt des gemeinsamen Ausflugs. Wir hatten alle viel Freude und haben den Tag sehr genossen!

Wir waren am 1.9.23 im Zürcher Zoo. Dort waren wir hauptsächlich in der Masoala-Halle. Die Halle war sehr warm. Aber es war ein toller Ausflug. Anschliessend gingen wir zum Wespenplatz. Dort hatten wir unser Picknick. Danach besuchten wir das Elefantenhaus. Dort stank es ziemlich doll. Später gingen wir zum Ausgang, wo wir uns total verlaufen haben. Das war lustig, weil wir alle so kichern mussten.
Ich hoffe, ihr werdet auch mal zum Zoo gehen und dass ihr eure Kinder auch bei dieser Wunderschule anmeldet.

- Das beste am Wandertag waren die Tiere. Meine Lieblingstiere waren die Schlangen und die Elefanten.

- Ich fand die Masoala-Halle zu heiss, aber es hat süsse Tiere.

- Ich fand die Äffchen am besten, weil ein Babyäffchen auf dem Mamaäffchen war.
- Ich finde SIS so cool. Wir sind zum Zoo gegangen, und ich liebe Tiere, so für mich der Zoo ist sehr wichtig.
- Ich fand es cool, dass man so eine schöne Aussicht hatte im Zug und cool, dass wir schon essen durften.
- Das beste beim Wandertag fand ich den Spielplatz. Es war sehr spassig!
During our school trip I had many new experiences like cleaning horses. First of all, I thought horses were aggressive, but after the school trip I felt really safe with horses. I understood that you need to be calm to the horses and they will be calm with you. Riding on the horses was a great thing. This was the most breathtaking part for me. Naturally, I was scared of horses because they are huge animals, and I thought the horses were going to kick me. Because of that fear, I did not feel protected. I thought I was going to get hurt. Bravely, I went to the school trip, and well, horses were not that bad after all! This was one of my favourite school trips. I loved it so much because I learned a lot of new things. I wish we could do more school tips like this. I had new experiences, and I won’t forget this trip.

After we arrived at the pony stable we got taken to a tent and could eat. In the tent we got ‘Stockbrot’ which I really love. After everyone ate, we paired in twos, and each got a pony. Mine was white and brown. I really liked it because it was friendly and beautiful. We cleaned it and when it was saddled, I got on Godi the pony. The view was great! We rode to Bally Park; on the way I saw fish. I’m really glad I could do it.
